Teams & members
A FormSlug workspace is shared across your Google Workspace domain. This page covers how to invite teammates, what each role can do, and how to transfer the workspace admin role.
FormSlug uses a 3-tier role model. Each workspace has exactly one Admin (the workspace creator); everyone else is a Manager or a Member.
- Admin — one per workspace. Holds the billing relationship, can change the plan, can delete the workspace, and can transfer the admin role to someone else. The admin can do everything a manager and a member can do.
- Manager — can create and edit any slug in the workspace, invite or remove other members and managers, and approve join requests. Cannot change billing, delete the workspace, or change anyone’s role.
- Member — can create their own slugs and edit/delete the slugs they personally created. Can see the All Slugs view (read-only) so they know what their teammates have published. Cannot manage members or billing.
Invite a teammate
Section titled “Invite a teammate”Inviting works by email — the invitee must already have a Google Workspace account on the same domain as your workspace.
- Open the FormSlug dashboard.
- In the left sidebar, click Team members.
- Click Invite member.
- Enter the teammate’s email address (must be on your workspace domain).
- Choose their role: Member or Manager.
- Click Send invite.
The invitee gets an email with a link. When they click it, they sign in with Google Workspace and join your workspace.
Member limits per plan
Section titled “Member limits per plan”| Plan | Members |
|---|---|
| Free | 1 (you only) |
| Pro | Up to 4 |
| Team | Up to 15 |
| Business | Unlimited |
If you try to invite someone past your plan’s limit, FormSlug prompts you to upgrade. See Plans & subscription.
Change a member’s role
Section titled “Change a member’s role”Only the workspace admin can change other members’ roles. Managers can invite and remove people, but not promote or demote them.
- Open Team members.
- Click Make Manager or Make Member next to the person you want to change.
The change takes effect immediately. The member sees their new permissions next time they reload the dashboard.
Remove a member
Section titled “Remove a member”- Open Team members.
- Click the Remove action next to the member.
- Confirm.
The slugs that member created stay in the workspace — they’re not removed with the member. They can be edited or transferred by any manager or the admin. You can’t remove yourself this way; ask the workspace admin if you need to leave.
Transfer the admin role
Section titled “Transfer the admin role”The admin is the person on the hook for billing. Transfer the admin role when the current admin leaves the company, or when a different teammate should manage the subscription.
- Open Settings in the dashboard sidebar.
- Find the Transfer workspace ownership card (only visible to the current admin).
- Pick the teammate you want to transfer to.
- Click Transfer.
After transfer:
- The new person becomes the workspace admin. The previous admin stays in the workspace as a manager.
- If a paid subscription is active, the new admin is prompted to add their own payment method via the Stripe customer portal. Until they do, FormSlug shows a banner and continues to charge the previous admin’s card at each renewal. We send reminder emails to both parties until the handoff is completed.
- The previous admin can stay as a manager indefinitely, or leave the workspace by asking the new admin to remove them.
